# ValueHub > Independent New Zealand comparison and guide site: personal finance (banking, savings, KiwiSaver, investing, insurance, credit and loans, mortgages), utilities, and hiring guides for trades and services. All content is written for a New Zealand audience using NZ providers, NZ terminology and NZ regulations. Figures are in NZD. ValueHub is an independent information resource, is not a licensed financial advice provider, and takes no affiliate or referral commission. ## Where the data comes from - Rate tables are read daily from each provider's own published rates, then cross-checked against the same page by a second job that emails on any disagreement. - KiwiSaver fund identity and figures come from the Government's Disclose Register (MBIE / Companies Office). - Credit ratings come from each institution's own disclosure statement or published rating report. - How this works, stated in full: https://valuehub.co.nz/methodology/ - What ValueHub claims about itself and its advertising: https://valuehub.co.nz/editorial-standards/ ## Key comparison pages - [Mortgage rates](https://valuehub.co.nz/mortgage-rates/): current NZ home loan rates by lender and term - [Term deposit rates](https://valuehub.co.nz/term-deposit-rates/): current NZ term deposit rates by institution and term - [Bond rates](https://valuehub.co.nz/bond-rates/): NZX-listed bond yields, with true maturity dates - [KiwiSaver funds](https://valuehub.co.nz/kiwisaver-funds/): every KiwiSaver fund in the country, with fees and returns ## Rate data (JSON) The rate tables above are also published as public, unauthenticated JSON, so they can be read directly instead of parsed from a page. All are `GET`, take no parameters and no body, and carry the same top-level fields: a `rates` array of one row per instrument and term (one row per bond, on the bond feed), plus `as_at`, `count`, `currency` and `notes`. No API key. - [Term deposit rates](https://valuehub.co.nz/api/rates/term-deposits.json): Every term deposit rate ValueHub publishes, one row per institution and term, with the credit rating and its agency, the minimum deposit, a link to the institution's own page for the rate, and the date the figure was read. - [Mortgage rates](https://valuehub.co.nz/api/rates/mortgages.json): Every mortgage rate ValueHub publishes, one row per lender, product and term, with a link to the lender's own page and the date the figure was read. - [Bond rates](https://valuehub.co.nz/api/rates/bonds.json): Every bond ValueHub publishes on its NZX debt-market page — code, issuer, coupon, current yield, the daily yield movement and the instrument's final maturity date — one row per bond, with a link to the bond's own NZX page. Timestamps are ISO 8601 in New Zealand local time with the offset omitted — the `timezone` field in each response states this. A `null` rate means the term is not priced, not zero; on the mortgage feed a `0` rate is a genuine product; and bond maturity is the instrument's final maturity, so an issue that can be called early may be repaid before the date shown. Every figure is read from the provider's own published rates and cross-checked daily, and **every row carries `source_url`** — a link to the provider's own page for that figure, so a number can be checked rather than taken on trust. It points at the page a person would open, not at the internal endpoint we read. Scope, and what these feeds do not model: - **Term deposits:** one row per institution and term, being the institution's standard offer to an ordinary customer from that row's `min_deposit`. Providers may pay more for larger balances, for longer notice, or on a variant product (senior, loyalty, bonus), and some tier rates by balance. Those variants are not listed. - **Mortgages:** one row per lender, product and term. Advertised rates are headline figures — eligibility and conditions (loan-to-value ratio, security, purpose) are not modelled, so a rate here is not a quote. - **Bonds:** one row per bond on the latest NZX snapshot. `source_url` is the bond's NZX instrument page. None of this is financial advice, and a feed value is not a quote. Free to read, quote and cite — please attribute ValueHub (valuehub.co.nz) and link to the matching page. Ask us first before republishing a table in bulk or commercially. ## Calculators and their JSON APIs Every calculator below has a public, unauthenticated `POST` endpoint that returns JSON. They are read-only: they compute and return, and write nothing. An omitted field is usually treated as 0 rather than rejected, so send every field you need. Rates and prices are inputs — supply current values rather than assuming a default.
